Jim Comte was born and raised in Montreal, QC in a godly home. He was saved at the age of 9, baptized at 13 and gave his testimony in a gospel meeting at 13. In 1962, he married his sweetheart Heather. Together they raised 3 children who are all happily married. God has blessed them with 9 grandchildren.

For several years Jim worked as a laboratory sales representative in Montreal. In 1966, he was transferred to Halifax, NS where he represented a pharmaceutical company, and won awards for ‘top salesman’. In August of 1969 Jim and Heather were commended to the work of the gospel and that same year they moved to Truro, NS. Together they helped the assembly in many ways. Jim also traveled throughout the Maritimes having gospel, children’s and ministry meetings. In 1976, they moved to Dartmouth, NS until 1978 when they moved to their present home in Barrie, ON. For 11 years Jim taught at Kawartha Lakes Bible College (School) in Peterborough, ON. Over the years they have spent their summers in camp, VBS and gospel work. In the local assembly, Jim shares in the ministry, visitation and is Commander of the Awana program. Throughout the year, he has gospel, and ministry meetings, with many opportunities to minister on the Tabernacle using a beautiful scale model. Jim also serves on the Board of Directors of FBH International, an assembly radio ministry out of St. Catharines, ON.
