Hear Boyd Nicholson’s message on I Cor. 15 “What a moment!” “… there are few places that we must visit in life, like a graveyard, silent…. dignified… and still…. when we have cause to go there, the granite… stands silently witnessing to the effectiveness of the grim reaper… and … we think very solemnly, that underneath the sod, there lie the bones of shattered hopes, unfulfilled ambitions, perished plans, and unpaid debts… it has drunk in the tears of the widow, the fatherless…. it seems like the very sound of the wind thru the trees is in the minor key… the gardener has done his best with it, he has tried to hide the horror of death beneath lovely lawns, those much too tidy gardens… we are made to realize that the silence we feel here is not the silence of victory but the silence of defeat….it is all filled with unanswered questions….many a weeping soul has asked over some open grave….why, why, why? Its a kind of frustrating piece of field…. if only it had been different…. there’s a frustration about it. It seems all we can do is…. go to our lonely room and eat the bread of sorrow and the drink cup of weeping… at least that is how it would be, if it wasn’t for one thing….”
