Hello Again;
iTunes,the program widely used and freely available on the Internet.Some folk embrace and use it,and others want nothing to do with it.It is almost a necessity for synchronizing (synching or adding) downloaded files to an iPod or other brand of mp3 player.Actually,iTunes is a great organizer…….What are known as “playlists” can be created in whatever amounts desired and used to place for example VFC messages into categories or groups……………….such as various conferences,various Bible study subjects,various speakers,and just about any groupings you wish to choose.Here on the VFC homefront there was one seeming issue that we wanted to change……the sorting of VFC speaker names to a Lastname-Firstname basis rather than the iTunes default of Firstname-Lastname………..as in our wanting Doe John rather than John Doe.Messages by any speaker were much easier to locate either in iTunes itself,or on an mp3 player after being added,when sorted by last name.
Being busy with tapes and generating mp3 files from them we perhaps did not spend enough time learning some iTunes basics.We took a quick look but did not find help on how to proceed………so we made a second copy of ALL VFC files and manually changed the speaker names ourselves,and then added them to iTunes.
Well,later we learned a much easier method……..that of right clicking on iTunes messages,then choosing “Get Info”……We could now change John Doe to Doe John.
We mention all this in case copies of downloaded messages are kept for later hearing……….and perhaps placed on an mp3 player.
WE say with emphasis that we ARE NOT an authority on using iTunes in general,but if you have questions perhaps someone among those that make up the “VFC Team” can help……just email us at info@VoicesForChrist.org and until next time,tell others we are here.
Warmly In Christ,The VFC Team

V.F.C. News – August 1, 2010
In the VFC news today we thought it might be interesting to share some statistics from the website. During the month of July we had visits from 103 different countries and thousands of mp3 files were downloaded all over the world. The countries in darker shades of green had more visits than countries in lighter shades of green.
Here is a sample of the stats zoomed in on a continent, Asia in this case.
And here is a detailed view of the US.
Thanks for visiting us on the internet!

Our August 2010 Message of the Month is from brother John Phillips, who was called home to glory to hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

V.F.C.News-July 26,2010
Hello Again To All;
We want to say a few words here concerning the audio quality of the messages on the Voices For Christ site.Every mp3 message gets individual attention whether it is manufactured from a cassette recording or a reel to reel tape,or in some cases an already existing mp3 or audio type file.(In speaking of audio in general,there are the condensed type known as “mp3″,and there are the normal or un-condensed type usually known as “audio” files.)
The mp3 type are playable on almost all computers,and also via a vast number of mp3 players such as iPods and others,plus cd & dvd players.The “audio” type files are larger in size,and hence not used here.They do have one special merit in their favor…….they are playable on more or less all cd players,even the older ones found in automobiles.Software can be found on the internet which can convert mp3 to the audio file format.This might be desired as for example wanting to play Voices For Christ messages in your vehicle which only has the older type cd player.
Your options would be to find and install the software and then “convert” the mp3 files to audio yourself,or purchase an mp3 player and use it everywhere,even in the automobile.
Okay,back to the subject of audio quality itself………every potential message does get it’s own attention as to the removal of hum,buzzes and long blank spaces if they exist.There are occasions where a message will end prematurely…….this in almost all cases is due to the original tape running out of space prior to the speaker’s last amen
In other words the tape might have had 45 minutes of usuable time,but the speaker kept going. (and don’t we all ?)
We just have to be excited as to all the capabilities there are these days in sharing ministry sometimes given half a century ago.The former time and effort put forth by God’s chosen vessels can be preserved and shared by young and old alike,regardless of the hearers location.
That is perhaps the primary reason we stay continually interested in locating and sharing them.
As always,feel free to contact either myself

Until next time…….The VFC Team

Hello Again;
We want to share that on several occasions during the past 5 years,individuals have sent an external USB type hard drive which we loaded with either all or some of the messages we have online.The drive was sent by and then returned to the sender via the regular mail system,sometimes known as “snail mail”
We offer this as a limited service primarily intended for assemblies,service organizations,commended workers and missionaries.We use the term “primarily intended for” due to not having the necessary time and/or resources to do this en masse if that circumstance did arise,which may be unlikely anyway.
Having such a library at hand could be a real blessing to for example a elderly care facility,wherein the material could be accessed either privately in the patient’s room or by way of a central location such as the facility’s lobby from a public computer.
The VFC library is continuing to expand and currently would need approx 180 gigabytes of drive space.
If this is appealing to such an organization or individual,contact us and we can discuss it further.

V.F.C.News-July 12,2010
We’re back !! Actually we never left,but have been right here behind the scenes,digitizing,cleaning and catalogging messages,basically seven days a week.We do confess to being very much behind on our newsletters here.As of this posting we are dropping the former “VFC – Voice” and starting out fresh here with the first edition of what we will call the V.F.C.News.
These can appear at any time and there is no planned schedule for them,so we highly encourage ALL site visitors to subscribe either thru our Itunes podcast or the RSS Feed available in your web browser.We may offer tips and suggestions from time to time as to particular single or series messages,or to helpful software we found on the web.Also we can mention upcoming special meetings and conferences if we are notified in advance.
There are 4,013 new message additions onboard which were just recently added.These comprise a backlog that has built up over the past several years,and their appearance fulfills a longtime wish to get them online.For a few days there was a sense of being caught up on digitizing chores,but that doesn’t last long around here.Already we are working thru 1,000+ messages which have arrived from the U.K.,and also a library of over 400 cassette tapes from an assembly in Texas.
Another new addition is a page on Facebook.You can see it by clicking on the Facebook link just below the speaker graphic on the VFC main page.Feel free to send comments and suggestions thru it if you wish.
More “new” news is that an overhaul of the website is underway.This has been another long time wish……….that of moving away from the present dependance on pop up windows,and improving our search engine capabilities.Beyond this is a secret,but expect other enhancements also.When will this be happening ? Hopefully within the next 60 to 90 days if all goes well.We can say more when more is known,so again we suggest taking advantage of either the Podcast or RSS Feed .
To all we say….be on the lookout for assembly oriented tape collections stuck away in attics,closets,basements and chapels.As time permits,we plan to continue growing into the future,and sharing treasures that have been stored away.
