The Purpose Of This Ministry
Voices For Christ can best be viewed as a gigantic love affair for the Word of God.
For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12)
We would like to express from the outset our complete dependence on the Lord in every aspect of what we do: He alone is able to provide for every need. We are often asked about the costs of providing this type of service, and in this area, too, we are looking to the Lord to supply our every need and are attempting to operate in complete dependence on Him. The main costs associated with this ministry are the server hosting and bandwidth, and the media and shipping costs. Countless hours have gone into the preservation and preparation of this material and we trust those efforts will be found acceptable both by our Savior and by His people.

Our History
Voices for Christ actually began in the year 1972. Doors imperceptible to the world at large began to open: through an acquaintances who used tapes for study, the library began to grow. Sometime thereafter, a first visit was made to a brethren assembly. It seemed that there was a depth to the ministry there that had not been found elsewhere. After several subsequent visits, the decision was made to fellowship there on a permanent basis. This proved to be yet another open door to wonderful recorded ministry. As time continued to pass, the desire to build a library never diminished. Tapes began to emerge from closets, attics and basements with the admonition to "use these if you can." In 1988, the well known speaker and author, Harold G. Mackay, donated his own personal life collection to the ministry. Soon afterwards, another pioneer in the South, evangelist Lester Wilson, did the same.
The year was now 1989, and it was rumored that a sizable library was located in the chapel of Park Of The Palms in Keystone Heights, Florida. A phone call ensued, followed by a trip of exploration. Oh what treasure was found! An entire wall covered from floor to ceiling with shelves of reel to reel tapes. Suffice it to say that some prayers were sent heavenward on behalf of those much sought after tapes. The next day the word came from Park management that..."yes, you can have them. What you cannot take by automobile, we will ship to you." Well, no shipping was necessary. A total of 800 reels and several large boxes of cassentte tapes were loaded into an Oldsmobile for the 545 mile return trip. With rear bumper low, and front bumper high, the next goal was home sweet home. The next three months were spent in transferring the reels to standard audio cassettes.
Many wonderful messages have been acquired, cataloged, and listed. Is is hoped that perhaps some might be shared with those of like-minded interest.
The Website
How this website came into existence is a story in itself. An offer for assistance in designing a web page for the Library was made by a brother in Hudsonville, Michigan in November of 1996. He had requested the e-mail version of the catalog and was impressed by the quality and size of the collection. The decision to try for a web page was affirmative. Some 300 e-mail messages darted back and forth between Durham, N.C. and Hudsonville, Michigan over the next three months. Finally, after weeks of unending e-mail messages, a basic website had been achieved.
Then, around the year 2000, we began to consider the possibility of converting the thousands of messages on reel-to-reel and cassettes over to compact disc form. This approach allows for a more permanent way of storing the messages and also prevents them from deteriorating over time. Work began on the busy task of recording the messages in MP3 format and placing master copies on to compact disks.
One of the benefits of creating MP3 messages is the possibility of putting them on a web server and allowing users to download the messages. This helps reduce the tasks of shipping and the labor of duplicating the messages to those who desire them, plus it enables one to immediately listen to the messages after downloading them. Emmaus Bible College was supportive in our initial attempts, providing needed equipment and hosting the initial temporary website on their server. We are incredibly grateful to them and thankful that the Lord has opened this opportunity up to us.
Where will the pathway lead next?
To Him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, He doth send out His voice, and that a mightny voice.
Psalm 68:33
The Future
The future is unknown to mortal man, at least the smaller details of our daily walk. As born again children we should just trust our blessed Savior to lead and guide us in our lives and labors for Him. So it is with Voices For Christ.
One worthy undertaking that will be difficult to achieve, would be providing a brief profile on each and every speaker in the Library. Just a sentence or two would be helpful, especially to the stranger. Anyone able to provide accurate information on speakers not pictured on the bios page is requested to do so by sending to info@voicesforChrist.org
We are working on completing the process of converting messages to MP3, and we are also working on possibilities that would allow us to stream audio through the server, like an Internet based radio station.
As to other future possibilities, it is hoped that some individual might take the lead into researching the idea of having messages transcribed into printed form. The messages by Lester Wilson and Harold G. Mackay would be worthy of all efforts put forth. Anyone wishing to discuss this further should contact us at info@voicesforChrist.org
It is sincerely hoped that Voices For Christ may, in some small way, prove a blessing to many and uplift the Lord Jesus Christ. Surely that hour of our departure is close at hand.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - I Thess.4:16-17

Because of the nature of this website and the amount of material available here, the views are those of the original speaker or author. Because of the diversity of viewpoints on some issues, there probably isn't a single individual anywhere who would subscribe to all of the views on all of the topics presented here, and we don't either. However, the material is still valuable and worth study. Someone has compared listening to an abundance of preachers to catchng and eating fish. If one eats a lot of fish, one must pick out a bone now and then, but the fish is still good. Of course if you find a message that is mostly bones, please bring it to our attention at info@voicesforChrist.org.
